The proud son and grandson of farmers and coal miners, I am a queer writer and culture critic. I have a B.A. in English, History and Classics from Marshall University (WV), and a M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Syracuse University (NY). Though I am based on Maryland’s Eastern Shore–where I live with my partner and our cat–the Mountain State will always have a piece of my heart.
